According to authorities, U.S. Marshals arrested Anthony Wilson, Jr, 19, of Texarkana, Arkansas, last night in Jackson, Tennessee. Wilson was wanted on a Capital Murder warrant related to the March 29, 2016 homicide of Casey Smith.

After receiving a tip, Marshals went to an unknown address in Jackson looking for Wilson. He was arrested after busting through a window in an attempt to flee. He is currently being held in the Madison County Jail and awaiting extradition to Texarkana.

According to TTPD Public Information Officer, Shawn Vaughn, it is unknown at this time how long Wilson was in Jackson, Tennessee. “We do knot know at this point if he’s been there the whole time, or been in Texarkana. We have reports of him being seen in Texarkana at an apartment complex in the past couple of weeks,” explained Officer Vaughn.

Detectives believe that Wilson was one of four men who attempted to rob Smith in front of a residence in the 2400 block of Mamie Street on March 29. According to authorities, when officers responded to 911 calls from people who reported hearing shots fired, they discovered Smith lying beside a vehicle in front of a residence. Smith, who had been shot several times, was deceased.

Marshall Vallejos, Jaquelle Rogers and Jailon Gamble were arrested within days of the homicide and charged with Capital Murder. All are currently being held on $1 million bonds at the Bi-State Jail.

According to Officer Vaughn, authorities believe this is the last arrest anticipated for this homicide case.
