An ordinance to raise the speed of Galleria Oaks between Robin Lane and Cowhorn Creek from 30 to 40 mph is on the agenda for Monday’s city council meeting.
According to a traffic study that counted 1,231 vehicles over a 24 hour period 88% of traffic was in excess of the 30 mph posted limit. The average speed for all vehicles was 39 MPH. 5.6% of traffic was traveling in excess of 55 mph.
Also on the agenda is a resolution to finance the purchase of public safety radio communications equipment which will provide a much needed upgrade for police and fire.

- Ordinance No. 2015-089 amending the city’s traffic register to establish a forty miles per hour (40 mph) speed limit on Galleria Oaks Drive between Robin Lane and Cowhorn Creek Road and amending the city’s traffic register to establish a thirty-five miles per hour (35 mph) speed limit on Galleria Oaks Drive between Richmond Road and Robin Lane.
