Harvest Regional Food Bank is putting out an urgent call for volunteers after a generous Little River County farmer donated two acres of fresh corn to help feed families across the region. The corn must be harvested quickly so it can be distributed to food‑insecure households throughout Harvest’s 10‑county service area.
Volunteers will meet just outside Foreman, AR:
Monday, June 15 and Tuesday, June 16 / 8:00 AM
Foreman rest stop (Hwy 32 & Hwy 41) https://maps.app.goo.gl/5dDE6QcgFaRf8wNB8
Volunteers will be picking corn from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Participants will help pick corn from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM each day. All ages are welcome, and volunteers are encouraged to bring a hat and wear closed‑toe sneakers or boots.
According to Camille Wrinkle, CEO of Harvest Regional Food Bank, this annual donation plays a major role in providing fresh produce to families who may otherwise go without.
“Even if you only have an hour or two to help, a little bit of time makes all the difference,” Wrinkle said. “We would never be able to harvest this much corn if we didn’t have a lot of help from the community each year. The best part is knowing it is going to families who may not have access to fresh produce otherwise.”
The harvested corn will be distributed to more than 90 food pantries across Southwest Arkansas and Northeast Texas, supporting thousands of households facing food insecurity.
Harvest Regional Food Bank has served the Texarkana region since 1989, reaching more than 55,000 individuals annually through food pantries, mobile distributions, and hunger‑relief programs.
