Holiday Springs Water Park is making sure Texarkanans are “water-aware.” May has been designated National Water Safety Month by the World Waterpark Association, the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals, the American Red Cross and the National Recreation & Park Association. As a WWA member, Holiday Springs Water Park is taking action to prevent drownings and recreational water-related injuries by offering swimming lessons all summer to the public throughout National Water Safety Month.

“It’s so important to be familiar with basic water-safety skills, especially during summer months when people are more often in the water,” says Darrell Magee – Aquatic Director. “Not only could you save your own life with this knowledge, but you might also be able to save someone else’s who hasn’t had the training.”

The Swimming Lessons introductory class, taught by Red Cross-certified swimming instructors and lifeguards, will include basic water-safety, first-aid and swimming instruction to help educate the public about water safety. Taught twice daily at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., class availability is limited, and reservations are required.

Holiday Springs Water Park is located at 5501 Crossroads Parkway, Texarkana, AR. The waterpark, which opened in 2013, traditionally is host to thousands of guests each summer.
