Hope Watermelon Festival Updates

Governor Asa Hutchinson will participate in the “Politically Correct” Watermelon Eating Contest at the 41st Annual Hope Watermelon Festival on Saturday, August 12 at 11:30 a.m.  The contest, sponsored by the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana, will take place at the BancorpSouth stage at Hope Fair Park.

Today is also the last day to buy general admission tickets for $15. Tickets go to $20 the day of the concert.

The Hope Watermelon Festival Concert on Saturday, August 12, featuring Country music star Joe Diffie, has been moved to Hempstead Hall.

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and seating is limited. Hempstead Hall is located on the University of Arkansas at Hope campus at 2500 South Main, Hope, Arkansas.

Tickets are available at the Hempstead Hall box office on Friday, August 11, from Noon to 6:00 p.m.; on Saturday, August 12, from 9:00 a.m. until time of event; and online at www.uacch.edu.
