Texarkana’s dining landscape is set to get a fresh, fast-casual addition this week as Jaggers, the popular spinoff concept from the creators of Texas Roadhouse, prepares to open its doors on Tuesday, January 28.
Located at 2021 Mall Drive, the new restaurant sits directly adjacent to its parent company’s Texas Roadhouse location, occupying the site that was formerly home to Bryce’s Cafeteria.
While Jaggers is known for speed, company representatives emphasize that it is not typical “fast food.” The concept was originally founded by the late Texas Roadhouse creator Kent Taylor, who envisioned a restaurant that combined the high-quality, scratch-made food of a sit-down steakhouse with the convenience of a drive-thru.
The construction of the Texarkana location has been closely watched by residents, particularly given the site’s history as the former home of the beloved Bryce’s Cafeteria. The new building features a dual-lane drive-thru and a modern dining room, aiming to serve both the lunch rush and families looking for a sit-down dinner.
“We are excited to bring the Jaggers experience to Texarkana,” said a spokesperson for the brand. “Our goal is to offer the community food that is made from scratch, generous portions, and the kind of hospitality people expect from the Texas Roadhouse family, but in a faster setting.”
