The Junior League of Texarkana will host the second annual Once Upon a Prom, an event designed to ensure all local high school juniors and seniors in need of a prom dress can get one, on February 20th, 2016. The event will take place at First Baptist Church on Moores Lane in Texarkana, TX.
“We want to give every girl an opportunity to look and feel beautiful for their prom night. Girls have had an opportunity to sign up with their counselors at school to come to the event. Last year we were able to provide 8 girls with the prom dress of their dreams. This year we have over 30 girls signed up. We are still collecting dresses through Friday evening, February 19th. We are in need of plus size dresses, but are taking all donations of gently used, in style, cocktail or formal dresses,” said Natalie Reeves, event chair.
The Junior League of Texarkana is an organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
