A Cass County man was killed in a single vehicle accident when his car veered off the roadway and struck a tree Thursday afternoon, according to a Texas DPS accident report.
According to the crash report, Billy Wayne Partain, 80, of Linden, Texas was traveling east on CR-1242 when he veered off the roadway and struck a tree head-on. His car then caught fire with him inside it.
Partain was pronounced dead on scene at 4:00 p.m. by Judge McMillon.
According to the crash report Partain was not wearing a seat belt.
