Man arrested by TAPD after foot pursuit

This morning, at approximately 1100 hours, officers responded to a residence located in the 4300 block of County Avenue in reference to a report of a trespasser. Once on scene, officers located the suspect, who was identified as 21 year-old Master Leal. Officers located an outstanding misdemeanor warrant ordering Leal’s arrest for the offense of failure to appear.

During the warrant confirmation process, the suspect took flight on foot and began running in direction of the housing complex located in the 4700 block of County Avenue. Additional officers responded to the area and established a perimeter in an attempt to isolate, locate and arrest the suspect. The suspect was eventually captured hiding behind a trash dumpster in the 4700 block of County Avenue a short time later.

An officer received minor injuries during the pursuit. He was treated and released at a local hospital. The suspect was transported to the Bi State Jail where he was booked into the facility pursuant to the warrant and charged with fleeing.
