The Texarkana, Texas Police Department arrested Colby Mitchell, 22, of Texarkana Texas, for Vehicle Burglary overnight.

According to Texarkana, Texas Police Public Information Officer Shawn Vaughn, officers responded to a report of a vehicle burglary in progress on Holly Lane at 1:49 a.m. Monday after a witness observed a man prowling around his neighbors’ vehicles in the area. Officers located Mitchell standing next to a vehicle at that location. He was dressed in all black clothing, a black mask, and wearing latex gloves. When the officers approached Mitchell, he immediately dropped a sack containing a large amount of loose change and other items typically left in vehicle consoles.

Officers canvassed the neighborhood and located other vehicles that they believed might have been broken into. One victim was able to confirm that items were missing from his vehicle and the items matched those found in Mitchell’s possession.

Mitchell was arrested and transported to the Bi-State Jail. His bond has not yet been set.
