53-year-old Jimmy Wayne Kent of Foreman, Ark. was hit and killed while attempting to cross State Line Ave. just north of Sugar Hill Rd. Friday evening, according to Texarkana, Ark. Police Public Information Officer Kristi Bennett.
Texarkana, Ark. Police and Fire were dispatched just after 6 p.m. Friday to reports of a major accident involving a pedestrian.
According to Bennett the man was struck by a 2004 Yukon occupied by one female traveling northbound on Highway 71. The man was pronounced dead on scene.
According to Bennett it was an accident and no charges will be issued. The driver of the Yukon was uninjured.
The mans name has not been released at this time.
