Man Rescued From Burning Car After Crashing into Utility Pole

3:45 P.M Friday | A Ford pickup truck traveling west on Arkansas Blvd. left the roadway and crashed into a utility pole bring down the power lines and transformers igniting the car.

According to on scene witnesses the driver was pulled from the car by a group of witnesses before first responders arrived and he may have been suffering from a medical problem.
Fire fighters did not approach the vehicle until SWEPCO crews arrived on scene and cut the live power lines. The driver was pulled quickly out of the vehicle and not harmed by fire. The condition of the driver is unknown at this time. Power of businesses along Arkansas Blvd. along with traffic lights at Jefferson was cut due to the accident.
