Man Runs From TTPD Almost Hits Multiple Officers and Rams Police Cars

Sunday 8:30 a.m. | A man fled from Texarkana, Texas police officers after being pulled over Sunday morning nearly hitting officers and ramming a police cruiser.

A TTPD officer conducted a traffic stop on a grey Dodge truck at College Drive and Anthony Drive. Around 7 minutes later as another officer was arriving on scene to provide assistance he advised the vehicle was running and had almost ran over an officer.

The suspect lead police on a pursuit north on Moore Drive. and according to radio traffic almost hit two officers and rammed a police car.

The suspect then turned north onto Texas Blvd. and then east onto 41st Street where he then wrecked out and bailed from the vehicle on foot shortly after turning north onto Main Street.

TTPD Officers along with TAPD Officers and Texas DPS Troopers set up a perimeter along Texas Blvd. and Down State Line Avenue.

Officers found the suspect a short distance from his vehicle within 15 minutes and placed him in custody.

According to radio traffic at least one police cruiser was damaged to the point it had to be taken out of service.
