Margaret Lynne Earnest, also known as Margaret Lynne McClellan, 82, of Texarkana, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026.

Margaret Lynne Earnest, also known as Margaret Lynne McClellan, 82, of Texarkana, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Ann McClellan and her twin brother, Michael Edward McClellan.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Robert Earnest; her children, Laurie Earnest and Brian Wells, and her nieces and nephews Brandon, Eric, Kristin and Rachel.

She was born in Denton County, Texas on January 10, 1944, the daughter of William Gober McClellan and Ruby Lucile McClellan. Margaret volunteered at a burn ward to help injured soldiers. She worked as a successful real estate agent and then worked for the General Services Administration (GSA) United States Government in various capacities. Outside of work, she was a loving, devoted mother to her two children, Laurie Earnest and Brian Wells. She always advocated for people with disabilities. She was a people person and had a good sense of humor. She was an author of the book “POTUS and the Rabbit,” which she wrote to help children cope with the loss of loved ones. Margaret was a very devoted advocate for the deaf.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the Pavilion, Red Lick Cemetery.
