Motorcycle Rider in Critical Condition Following Crash


The Texarkana Texas Police Department is investigating a vehicle crash involving a three wheel motorcycle that occurred at the intersection of North Kings Highway and Arnold Road about noon today.  The operator of the motorcycle is in critical condition at a local hospital.


The preliminary investigation has determined that Donald Cole, 65, of Texarkana Texas was driving a Honda Goldwing Trike southbound on Kings Highway.  Justin Rushing, 41, of Nash Texas, was driving a Chevrolet pickup truck.  Rushing, who was northbound on Kings Highway, attempted to turn left onto Arnold Road and crossed into the path of Cole’s vehicle.  The vehicles collided, causing Cole to be ejected from his vehicle.


Cole was transported to Christus St. Michael Hospital, where he is being treated for life threatening injuries.  He is currently listed as being in critical condition.  Neither Rushing nor his 10 year old daughter who was a passenger in his vehicle him were injured.


Cole was wearing a helmet.


No charges have yet been filed in this case pending the outcome of the investigation.
