The University of Arkansas at Fayetteville recently announced the new Arkansas Transfer Achievement Scholarship
program that reduces tuition rates for students who graduate with associate’s degrees from any of the two-year colleges in
the University of Arkansas System and then transfer to the Fayetteville campus. The scholarship enables students who
graduate with an associate degree from the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana (UAHT) to transfer to the U of A
Fayetteville and pay UAHT’s affordable tuition rate.
The news of the scholarship came with a warm welcome from UAHT student Kristaryon Easter. “I recently visited the
University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and immediately knew that I wanted to transfer there once I graduated from UAHT.
When I heard the news of this scholarship, it was like a dream come true for me,” said Easter.
UAHT offers students the most affordable tuition of all colleges in the University of Arkansas System, making UAHT the
most affordable path to becoming a student at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. “For many students, the most
daunting barrier to attending a world-class university such as U of A Fayetteville is cost. The new Arkansas Achievement
Scholarship effectively eliminates that barrier,” said Chris Thomason, UAHT Chancellor.
“I had already begun planning to apply for various other scholarships, hunt for jobs, and even started considering taking
out student loans to be able to attend the U of A Fayetteville. The news of this scholarship helped put my mind at ease
about how to realize my dream of becoming an alumnus of the top university in Arkansas. Now I can focus more on
completing my associate degree knowing that I’ll have the Arkansas Transfer Achievement Scholarship waiting on me,”
Easter said.
The average tuition (in-district and in-state) at UAHT is $72.50 per credit hour. The tuition at the U of A Fayetteville is
$252.28 per credit hour. Therefore, students who graduate with an associate degree from UAHT can attend U of A
Fayetteville and save 71.3% on tuition per credit hour. “Thanks to Chancellor Steinmetz and the team at U of A
Fayetteville, there has never been a better time to become a Razorback, and there has never been a better partner to help
get you there than the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana,” Thomason said.
