Howard Jefferson Jr., 60, of Texarkana, Texas passed away Saturday afternoon at Wadley Hospital from injuries received after being hit by a car while attempting to cross New Boston Rd.
According to Texarkana, Texas Police a Nissan Pathfinder was driving east on New Boston Rd. when Jefferson walked in the path of the vehicle. Jefferson was struck in the outside lane.
According to police Jefferson suffered severe head trauma and was transported by Wadley Regional Medical Center where he later died.
The accident is still under investigation and no citations have been issued.
