Pleasant Grove High School to Retire Michael Wacha’s High School Baseball Jersey on Friday Night

Pleasant Grove High School will retire former Pleasant Grove Hawk baseball pitcher Michael Wacha’s jersey during a pre-game ceremony on Friday evening at Hawk Stadium.

Wacha is a 2009 graduate of Pleasant Grove where he led the Hawk baseball team to the state finals in 2008 and 2009. Wacha was selected to the all-state first-team and all-state tournament team his senior year. After high school, Wacha attended and played baseball for Texas A&M University in College Station, TX for three years before being drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals. Since playing for the St. Louis Cardinals, Wacha has been awarded the National League Championship Series MVP and a Major League Baseball All-Star.

Pleasant Grove pre-game ceremonies will begin at 7:00 p.m. for Senior Night. Senior football players, cheerleaders, band members, Showstoppers, athletic trainers, and cross country will be recognized before the jersey retirement ceremony. Michael Wacha’s jersey, number 38, will be retired preceding the 7:30 p.m. kick-off between the Pleasant Grove Hawks and Spring Hill Panthers.
