WASHINGTON – Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-Texas) voted Tuesday to protect the Red River Army Depot and strengthen America’s military through the passage of the 2017 Defense Appropriations Act (H.R. 1301) in the U.S. House.

H.R. 1301 included a 2.1 percent military pay raise and prevented funds from being used for base realignment and closure (BRAC) at the Red River Army Depot, among other notable provisions to bolster national security.

“A strong and robust military is absolutely necessary for protecting the safety and security of the American people, and the Depot plays a critical role ensuring this important responsibility of the federal government is fulfilled. I’m always proud to support legislation that will advance both of these key priorities.” Ratcliffe said.
