Texarkana Urban Transit District (T-Line) will offer free rides to the general public Thursday, May 10, 2018, in support of Elder Abuse Awareness month.

May is both Elder Abuse Awareness Month and Older Americans Month. In an effort to bring awareness to these causes, the T-Line Fixed Route bus system will offer free rides to the public this coming Thursday, May 10th, from 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. T-Line serves Texarkana USA, Nash, and Wake Village.

Fares range from .60 cents to $1.25 (dependent on age). Passengers can also purchase tickets and monthly passes for an additional cost. T-Line operates Monday through Saturday, 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Elder Abuse Awareness Month is dedicated to raising awareness for abuse of the elderly. Seniors are often targets of being victims of financial fraud and identity theft. If you or someone you know is a victim of elder abuse, please contact your local Adult Protective Services office and report details of the abuse as soon as possible. Older Americans Month was established by the Administration on Aging. The 2018 theme, Engage at Every Age, emphasizes that you are never too old (or young) to take part in activities that can enrich your physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
