As part of its ongoing spirit pump initiative, Road Runner presented Liberty-Eylau High School with a $1,546.48 check on Thursday, May 16.

“We appreciate Road Runner’s commitment to investing in the school and the community,” said Liberty-Eylau Superintendent Ronnie Thompson. “The spirit pumps are an excellent way to boost team spirit and also create friendly crosstown competition.” According to Thompson, the money earned from the spirit pump has allowed Liberty-Eylau to be able to recognize students and staff in a unique way.

Since March 1, three cents of every gallon sold at Road Runner’s school-branded pumps has been collected to support local high schools’ academic initiatives, athletic organizations and other student projects. To date, more than $4,400 has been raised, with $715.17 by Arkansas High School, $1,546.48 by Liberty-Eylau High School, $1,622.67 by Pleasant Grove High School and $521.66 by Texas High School.

The designated spirit pump locations include 5720 Loop 245 for Arkansas High School, 4603 West 7th Street for Liberty-Eylau High School, 4101 N. Kings Highway for Pleasant Grove High School and 1632 Richmond Road for Texas High School.
