4:30 P.M. Friday | First responders were on scene of a single vehicle rollover accident on Highway 67 near 989. Liberty Eylau Volunteer Fire Department worked the accident along with Texas DPS Troopers, Bowie County Sheriff Deputies, and LifeNet.
Tire marks could be seen where the vehicle left the roadway around 60 yards before rolling over and coming to rest on its side. Chad Pounds was traveling behind the car when the accident happened, and stopped and rendered aid until paramedics arrived. According to an on scene witness the driver appeared to have serious injuries, the younger boy passenger didn’t appear to have major injuries.
Both occupants were taken by LifeNet ambulance to a local area hospital.
