Samantha Sharpnack-Isom of Texas A&M University-Texarkana brought home the Red River Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week award for Aug. 21-27, the RRAC announced on Monday.
Sharpnack-Isom accounted for five goals and two assists in the Eagles’ first three matches of the season. The senior forward netted a goal in a 2-1 loss to Bethel University of McKenzie, Tennessee, and contributed to a 13-0 win over Bacone College of Muskogee, Oklahoma, with four goals and a pair of assists.
Sharpnack-Isom, a native of Round Rock, Texas, was a RRAC All-Conference First Team selection last year.
“Samantha has been a tremendous player for us, and we are extremely excited to see her hard work pay off,” said Michael Galvan, director of athletics.
Karolyn Hasler of Louisiana State University Shreveport earned recognition as the RRAC Defensive Player of the Week for the same dates. This is the first set of conference awards for the 2017 women’s soccer season.
