Samantha Sharpnack-Isom of Texas A&M University-Texarkana brought home the Red River Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week award for Oct. 2-8, the RRAC announced on Monday. This is Sharpnack-Isom’s second time to earn the honor this season.

Sharpnack-Isom accounted for five goals and assisted on a goal in a 2-0 week for the Eagles. The senior forward delivered all five of her goals in a 7-1 victory over Huston-Tillotson University of Austin on Thursday. The Eagles then defeated Our Lady of the Lake University 1-0 in San Antonio over the weekend.

“Samantha continues to set our standards of excellence at an all-time high,” said Michael Galvan, director of athletics. “It is great to see the hard work Samantha and her teammates put into the season pay off.”

Sharpnack-Isom, a native of Round Rock, Texas, was a RRAC All-Conference First Team selection last year. She now leads the RRAC in points (35) and goals (14). A&M-Texarkana climbed to 2-2 in the conference and 7-5 overall.

Emma Pinkerton of the University of St. Thomas in Houston earned the RRAC Defensive Player of the Week honor for the same dates. This is the seventh set of conference awards for the 2017 women’s soccer season.
