Shattered Dreams shows Cass County students consequences of drug, alcohol use

Students from Atlanta, Linden-Kildare, Queen City, Avinger, Bloomburg and McLeod viewed a mock accident scene where drinking and driving have fatal consequences, complete with emergency responders, ambulances and Life Net helicopter services. They then viewed a video of actions leading up to the wreck and the serious legal results following the event.

The special guest speaker for the event was Sean Carter talked about having to deal with severe brain trauma caused from a drinking and driving crash.

Students also participated in several activities such as field sobriety tests, drunk driving course, rollover convincer, distracting driving demonstration, CPR instruction, electrical safety and also pick up information from various sponsored booths at the event.

LifeNet, TxDOT, Texas DPS, and local cass county law enforcement were all involved in the event.
