TEXARKANA, Texas–On September 4th at approximately 10:13am officers received a call of an assault on the north side of Spring Lake Park. Officers were advised by the victim, who was running in the park, that she was assaulted by a very light skinned white male with blonde almost white hair described to be in his mid-30s. She was able to break free from the suspect and he fled the scene in a gold colored Jeep Cherokee.
A photograph of the suspect vehicle was released to the media at approximately 12:10pm. Texarkana Texas Police received a tip that the vehicle in the release was used regularly by David Love, 19, of Fouke, AR.
At approximately 12:43pm Detective Thacker observed the suspect vehicle traveling south on Stateline Ave. Detective Thacker initiated a traffic stop on Love and he was arrested for a traffic violation. After a very thorough investigation detectives were able to issue a warrant for sexual assault on Love for the incident that occurred earlier at Spring Lake Park. Love is booked into the Bi State for Sexual Assault.
