Beginning Monday, June 17, 2019, construction on the Walk Through History
Trail at Spring Lake Park will commence. During this time, the City apologizes for any
inconvenience and asks for the patience of the community and park visitors during this
approximately one-month-long reconstruction process.
The City of Texarkana, Texas was a recipient of a Texas Parks and Wildlife Grant on May 26,
2016. Since then, the City has received $130,762 to develop a new Walk through History trail in
Spring Lake Park. The grant money will be used to repair an existing 2000-foot section of the
walking path that has tree root damage, with improvements also including new benches and
signage.
