Stop The Violence Peace Rally Today at Bi-State

Texarkana United Coalition for Peace held a Stop the Violence Peace Rally today on the front steps of the bi-state justice building.

Community members, families of violence victims, and local politicians were in attendance.

Texarkana, Texas Mayor Bob Bruggeman told the crowd, “core values begin in the home and it is important for parents to raise children in a good and proper environment.

Xavier Rollins’ mother spoke at the event. Rollins was killed in a shooting on June 17, 2014 at River Crossing apartments in Texarkana. Police have yet to make an arrest for the murder.

The family of Fred Eatherly, who was shot at Raceway in October, was also present.
