Suspect at Large in Blanton Street Shooting, Victim Expected to Recover

A New Boston, Texas man was shot in the leg during an argument in the 600 block of Blanton Street. Texarkana, Texas Police were called to a shooting at that location at approximately 3 p.m. this afternoon. When officers arrived they found Robert Henderson, 35, walking away from the scene with a gunshot wound to his left leg.

Henderson told police he had been arguing with another man when the man produced a semi-automatic handgun and shot him in the leg. He described the man as a black male with a light complexion, between 30 and 40 years old and driving a beige and black single cab Ford pick-up truck. Henderson did not know the man’s name, but gave the officers the nickname “Memphis”.

Henderson was transported to CHRISTUS St. Michael for medical treatment and is expected to make a full recovery.
