Texarkana, Arkansas Police Department Corporal Les Munn received the Sheep Dog of the Year award for 2016 today.

This award is an important way to recognize those among us who have gone above and beyond their call of duty in the military or first responder professions (law enforcement, fire & rescue, and EMS).

Sheep Dog Impact Assistance Central Arkansas Commander Jeff Watts came to Bi-state and presented Munn with the award.

President Watts advised that after winning the local award the nomination was then submitted to the national level. Munn has been chosen as the Sheep Dog of the Year at the National level as well. Cpl. Munn will travel to Rogers Arkansas at the end of April to receive his national award.

Munn also recently received the TASER and PoliceOne RISE Award in the Protecting Life Category in Chicago.
