Texarkana man killed in wreck while driving in funeral procession

An 81-year-old Texarkana man was killed Monday in a wreck while driving in a funeral procession.

According to an Arkansas State Police fatal accident report Royce Watson, 81, was pronounced dead upon arrival at Wadley Hospital.

The accident happened at 11:20 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Rondo Road and McClure Road.

According to the report, Watson ran the stop sign on McClure Rd. and was struck by a Dodge truck.

Watson’s 79-year-old wife was also transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
