Texarkana man shot in leg, warrant issued for suspect

A Texarkana, Texas man sustained a gunshot wound to the leg while outside of a local apartment complex Monday.

According to Texarkana, Texas Police at approximately noon today, officers were called to a shooting in the 1400 block of Hazel Street. Demarquis Blackwell, 21, told officers that Ricky Crawford shot him once in the leg with a semi-automatic pistol as he was running away from Crawford. Following the shooting, Crawford fled the scene with another man in a black Chevrolet Camaro.

Blackwell was transported to Wadley Regional Medical Center for treatment of his wound. The injury was not life threatening, and Blackwell is expected to make a full recovery.

 

Detectives have obtained a warrant for the arrest of Ricky Shawn Crawford, 28, of Texarkana, Texas for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
