Texarkana, Texas Police arrested Yvonne Wright, 24, of Texarkana, Texas, for Abandoning or Endangering a Child.

On February 18, officers were called to an apartment complex in the 4600 block of Elizabeth Street after an employee heard a young child crying for help inside an apartment. Unable to get anyone to the door, he summoned the apartment manager who entered the apartment to check on the child. After finding a three year old girl alone and frightened inside the apartment, they called police.
Wright told detectives that she left the apartment that morning while her child was sleeping to grocery shop for the family. She stated that she did not want to wake her. It was later determined that Wright had left the child alone in the apartment for more than an hour and forty-five minutes.

Wright was arrested at her apartment yesterday after detectives obtained a warrant for Abandoning or Endangering a Child, a felony. Justice of the Peace Nancy Talley set her bond at $100,000. She remains in jail at this time.

Child Protective Services was notified and initiated a separate investigation into the incident.
