Two Texas A&M University-Texarkana professors recently presented a session titled “Appy Hour” at the Northeast Texas Consortium of Colleges and Universities 2017 NETnet Summer Conference in Tyler, Texas.
During the presentation, Dr. David Allard, professor of biology, and Dr. Rebecca Martindale, assistant professor of instructional technology, shared a variety of mobile software applications designed for teaching and learning, as well as best practices for transforming the classroom experience.
“This was my first year attending the NETnet conference,” said Dr. Martindale. “I enjoyed getting to meet others in partner institutions to discuss technology resources for teaching and learning. I also came away with a few ideas for workshops to implement on campus for faculty. I hope to attend again next year.”
The Northeast Texas Consortium (NETnet) is a collaborative effort of 13 higher education institutions to bring a wide range of instruction to 50 rural northeast Texas counties containing 46 percent of the rural Texas population.
NETnet provides a broad spectrum of services, ranging from the coordination of educational network technologies and systems management; to distance learning curriculum design and course development; to staff training and technical support; to grant and project management.
