Texarkana’s Parks and Recreation Dept. Wins Award for Art Project

The Texarkana, Texas Parks and Recreation Department is receiving the Texas Recreation and Parks Society-North Texas Arts and Humanities Award for the Bringle Lake Art Project.

TRAPS is a nonprofit educational and professional organization that focuses on advancing the profession of parks, recreation and leisure services in Texas.  Awards are held annually with submissions from across the entire state.

According to TRAPS, “The Texas Arts and Humanities Programming Achievement Award honors those departments with outstanding Arts and Humanities programs. (A project or program that promotes cultural art for example: theatre, culinary, reading, painting, sculpting, drawing, quilting, etc.)”

The Parks & Recreation Department will attend the TRAPS Conference in Frisco, Texas on November 8th to receive the official award.
