The Texas Girls Coaches Association has selected Pat Daniels of Texas High School as Head Coach for the 5A-6A Track/Cross Country Team

The Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) has selected Pat Daniels of Texas High School as Head Coach for the 5A-6A Track/Cross Country Team during the upcoming TGCA All-Star Game.

Coach Daniels will lead the coaching duties of 11 All-Star athletes from Texas during the July 11-12 TGCA Summer Conference & Games in Austin. She will be assisted by Coach Sara Sheppard from New Caney High School.

The annual Summer Conference & Games is sponsored by the TGCA and is well-known throughout the United States, attracting nationally recognized volleyball, basketball, track & field, cheer, tennis, soccer, and softball clinicians. The clinic and All-Star games attract approximately 10,000 coaches, their families, and fans of girls’ volleyball, basketball, cross country, track & field, cheerleading and softball from Texas and surrounding states.

Daniels serves as the Girls Athletic Coordinator and Track & Cross Country Coach for the Texas High Tigers. During her 32 years with TISD, she has also served as Middle School Coach, Elementary Physical Education and Parent Liaison at Dunbar Intermediate Center and sponsored the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Health & Physical Education from Southern Arkansas University.

The Texas Girls Coaches Association is one of the largest associations of coaches, and the largest association for coaches of girls’ athletics in the United States. Established in 1953, it has grown to in excess of 7,000 members today and includes coaches and administrators in all levels of education. It is sanctioned by the Texas University Interscholastic League and certified by the Texas Education Agency. The organization honors athletes and coaches in all sports sanctioned by the UIL.
