“Don’t mess with Texas” anti-litter popular campaign is celebrating the 30th anniversary.

The Texas Travel Information Center in Texarkana will be joining the celebration with a variety of events and activities at the Texas Travel Information Center located on 1200 West I-30 in Texarkana, Texas.

The celebration will kick off at around 11:00 a.m. with the reading of an official proclamation from mayor of Texarkana, Bob Bruggeman.

Guests at the center will be able to play a Spin-the-Wheel game to win prizes, have pictures made with like-size photo props of Matthew McConaughey and George Strait and vendor tables will be set up with many give-away items.

During this celebration there will also be guest appearances by TxDOT puppets Tex and Dot, crash test dummies Vince and Larry, and Smokey Bear. There will be games and activities for the kids, including a Tex and Dot puppet show, face painting and a Trash-to-Treasure Litter Art Contest sponsored by Keep Texarkana Beautiful. Top two winners of the contest will receive prizes for $50 and $25.

The Don’t mess with Texas campaign has captured Texans’ sense of pride in their wonderful state while also helping to keep tons of litter off Texas roads. The public is invited to attend the celebration.
