With Texarkana ISD being named an official Ford Motor Company Technician Training Program, Texas High School students are now gaining hands-on experience in the classroom and as interns at Todd Shores’ McLarty Ford.
The Ford Automotive Career Exploration (ACE) program www.newfordtech.com provides Ford-specific training that gives interns a stable and lucrative path with potential opportunities to become a Master Tech, Shop Forman, Service Manager or even a General Manager.
Paul Norton, Superintendent of Schools Texarkana ISD had this to say, “The future of industry and manufacturing growth in our area is going to be dependant upon a skilled and ready workforce.”
Career & Technology Education (CTE) courses in high schools help students explore the numerous career choices in the world today. Students are able to combine book work with hands-on learning to explore 16 different career clusters. Students are encouraged to follow a plan of study to achieve an endorsement that is added to their transcript upon graduation From Architecture and Construction to Health Science Business, there is something to spark the interest in every student.

The donation of two vehicles to Texas High School will be used by students within nine CTE Plan of Studies Sequenced Courses, from Agriculture Mechanics to Welding.
