TTPD Arrests Federal Felon After High Speed Chase

8:00 p.m. Sunday | Texarkana, Texas Police arrested two people tonight after a short chase up New Boston Rd. & Summerhill Rd.

Radio traffic indicated police attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle that was known to contain a person with a federal arrest warrant. The driver refused to stop and led police on a five minute chase on New Boston Rd., Summerhill Rd., and Richmond Rd., with speed reaching 80 miles per hour at one point.

The car turned off of Summerhill Rd. onto Parker Ave. which dead ends at the Lincoln Street School where the suspects bailed from the car into the school playground. One suspect was taken into custody by an officer shortly after jumping the fence into the playground. Another suspect was also taken into custody near by.

TEXARKANA, Texas–Texarkana, Texas Police attempted to stop a black 2009 Nissan car at the intersection of North Robison Road and New Boston Road. Officers believed the driver of the car had a Federal felony warrant. The vehicle fled the scene and TTPD officers gave chase.
After a brief pursuit that ended on Parker Street, the driver and passenger of the vehicle exited and fled on foot. Officers caught the passenger, Patrick Holligan, 38, of Berkeley, California, in the 1900 block of Eddings Street. Holligan was arrested for Evading Arrest on foot and was transported to jail. The driver was located behind the school on Lincoln Street after injuring his leg jumping over a six foot chain link fence. The driver was transported to the hospital for his leg injury where the US Marshals office took custody of him. Officers located suspected methamphetamines they believe belongs to the driver. Suspected marijuana was also located in the car.
