The Texarkana Texas Police Department would like to remind drivers that it is Texas Law to stop for a stopped school bus with flashing red lights and stop arm extended.  Children get on and off the bus and may cross the road.  They count on you to stop!

Drivers must remain stopped until the bus starts moving, the bus driver signals for you to go, or the flashing red lights are turned off.

If you break the law and pass a school bus when the red lights are flashing and the stop arm is extended you can be fined up to $1,000 dollars plus court costs.

A TXDOT flyer is included.
