Two Arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine

According to Bowie County Sheriff’s Office chief deputy Jeff Neal on January 31, 2015 Deputy Danny French noticed a green Jeep Cherokee pulling two homemade trailers with defective lights on Farm to Market 3098. He ran the license plate on the Jeep and found it to be fictitious returning to a red Ford pickup.

Deputy French conducted a traffic stop on the Jeep for these violations.

According to Neal the driver of the Jeep was found to be John David Martin and he had one passenger in the vehicle with him who was identified as Jamey Leon Plunk. John Martin told Deputy French he had recently purchased the vehicle from an individual and the tags on the vehicle were there when he bought it. Deputy French asked John Martin for consent to search his vehicle which he granted. Drug paraphernalia and a total of approximately 21 grams of methamphetamine were recovered during the search of this vehicle. Both John Martin and Jamey Plunk were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance over four grams and under 200 grams. Jamey Plunk also had an active warrant out of Cass County. Both subjects were cited to appear in court for their paraphernalia violations and both had their bond set at $40,000.00 for the possession of a controlled substance charge.
