HOPE, AR The University of Arkansas Texarkana is completing another construction project with the opening of the Professions Building. From its first class in August of 2012, the U of A Texarkana has worked to better serve the needs of Miller and surrounding county students. The College focused its initial class offerings around general studies and is now expanding those programs to meet the growing needs of students and workforce training.

Prior to the opening of the Texarkana Campus, the college experienced a fluctuating number of Miller County students registering for classes in Hope. Growth has continued for U of A Texarkana with the Fall 2013 to the Fall 2014 headcount enrollment increasing 17 percent and the Fall 2014 to Fall 2015 headcount continued to increase.

To allow for continued growth and addition of new programs of study, U of A Texarkana expanded by adding a 3 story, 20,000 square foot educational structure. This building, which is opening for the spring semester, is uniquely designed to accommodate the addition of Health Professions with a fully functional simulation lab as well as Technical and Industrial programs which have been requested by students and industry partners in the region.
