U.S. 59 closed after fiery crash involving tanker truck

10:15 p.m. Sunday | U.S. Highway 59 is closed in both directions just north of the Sulphur River after a fiery crash involving a tanker truck Sunday night.

Liberty Eylau, C-5, Redwater, and Wake Village Volunteer Fire Departments all responded the scene.

The driver of the tanker truck was pronounced dead on scene and the driver of a pickup truck was transported by LifeNet with non life threatening injuries.

First responders are still on scene and 59 will likely remain closed until early Monday morning.  Check with TXK Today for updates on the status of Highway 59.
