The Wake Village Police Department received a $3,000 check from the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) this week for its participation in the annual Click It or Ticket mobilization campaign.
The check is one of 20 presented by the department as part of an incentive program to encourage law enforcement agencies to participate in the program. The 20 winners are chosen at random from the 132 agencies participating in the program statewide.
The agencies can use the funding to purchase more enforcement equipment, training of officers or safety education programs for the public. They have until Sept. 30, 2015 to use the funds.
To be eligible for the program, agencies must participate in the Click It or Ticket campaign and have all their enforcement activities logged and reported.
