Betty Sue “Nana” Cowley, age 86, of Texarkana, Texas went home to be with her Lord on Friday, February 6, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born June 19, 1939 in Foreman, Arkansas to Isaac and Dixie Green. She was a homemaker and member of the Trinity Baptist Church.

Nana was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a woman of strong faith and had a special gift for taking care of children. Every child who came into contact with her, immediately felt her love for them and in return they loved her. She was a wonderful cook and was famous for her pies, especially her coconut cream pie. She will greatly be missed by all who have known her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; twin sister, Mary Lou Green and by one brother, Meredith Green.

She is survived by her husband of sixty-six years, Robert D. Cowley Jr of Texarkana, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Tammie Cowley of Texarkana, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Jerry Knox of Texarkana, Texas and Rhonda and Dewayne Jones of Texarkana, Texas; two brothers, Dr. Charles Green and wife Pat of Arkadelphia, Arkansas and Bobby Green and wife Lynn of Euless, Texas; one special sister-in-law, Patsy Green of New Boston, Texas; one special nephew, Dennis Green of Little Rock, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Bradley Cowley, Ryan Knox, Chase Knox, Braydon Jones and Carson Jones; seven great grandchildren, Emma Kate, Mia, Madden, Jax, Fernanda, Elijah and Ezrah and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at the Chapelwood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wallace Edgar officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 5-7 P.M.
