Cindy Maxine Karr, age 86, of Texarkana, Arkansas, passed from this life on May 24, 2025. Born in Langley, Arkansas on July 8, 1938, to the late Lina and Elbert Pinson. She had three sisters, Virginia, Azelle and Adell, who are deceased. Early years were in Mena, Arkansas, then she lived in Maple Heights, Ohio until she and her family moved to Texarkana in 1976.
She was retired from Walmart and Opportunities, Inc. She loved her work as a driver transporting the elderly and handicapped, assisting them on and off the bus. Later, dispatching, clerical and driving the Eagle transit transporting passengers to and from school and jobs.
She was an enthusiast of local gospel concerts and attending events of grandchildren. Her hobbies were gardening, cooking, card games and large puzzles. Cindy married Luther Karr, and together they had six children: three boys and three girls.
She is survived by her husband, Luther, of seventy years, five children: Cheryl Karr Patillo and her husband, David Patillo; Leslie Karr, Thomas Karr; Michael Karr and his wife, Amy; Daniel Karr and his wife Brandi. Her second child, Carrie Diane Karr Williams, preceded her in death on February 27, 2016. Cindy has ten grandchildren: My-Loan Roberts and her husband Mile Roberts, Damon Downs, Justin Karr, Adelynne Bowman, Salem Karr, Seth Karr, Sidney Karr, Haley Patillo Thompson and her husband Hollis Thompson, and Andrew Patillo. She has seven great grandchildren: Alexis Paul, Tanner Paul, Austin Roberts, Stormy Johnson, Kolbie Downs, Rhodey Downs, Melody Karr and one great, great grandchild: Brecken Johnson, three deceased grandchildren, Jason Paul, Jacob Karr and Hung Huynh.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 29th from 5-7 pm at Chapelwood Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Friday, May 30th at 4 pm at Chapelwood Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Jansen officiating.
