Jerry Dean Woodward, 72, of Maud, Texas, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at his residence. He was born on November 13, 1952, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to Maxine and Clayton Woodward.

Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Army and carried that same quiet strength and dedication throughout his life. His faith in Jesus was the foundation of who he was, and he found peace and joy in God’s creation. Whether he was spending time outdoors, relaxing at a favorite park, or simply enjoying the company of those he loved, Jerry appreciated life’s simple blessings.

To those who knew him, Jerry was a gentle soul with a kind heart. He was quiet by nature, yet his actions spoke volumes. He was caring, friendly, patient, and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed him. He never sought recognition—he simply believed in being there for others. His calm presence brought comfort, and his genuine kindness left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

One of Jerry’s greatest joys was spending time with his family, his friends, and his faithful companion, Buddy, who was always close by his side. He shared a special bond with his best friend and lifetime partner, Susan, and treasured the life they built together.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Maxine and Clayton Woodward.

Those left to cherish his memory are his brother, Joe Woodward; his nephew, Travis Woodward; his best friend and lifetime partner, Susan Woodward; and many extended family members and friends whose lives were blessed by his love, kindness, and friendship.

Though Jerry will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing he is now at peace in the presence of his Savior. His quiet faith, gentle spirit, and loving heart will never be forgotten.
