Sandra “Sandy” LaDon Turner

Sandra “Sandy” LaDon Turner, age 81, of Fouke, Arkansas, passed away on January 9, 2026. She was born on April 13, 1944, in Texarkana, Arkansas to Hazel Zachry and Willie Pelfrey.
She spent her working days as a hairdresser and later became a homemaker. Her family would describe her as creative and loving: a mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially cooking for them. Her love language was feeding everyone. It’s said that she “makes granny’s biscuits like no one’s business.” She loved music and to dance, she was an artistic painter as well.
Sandy is preceded in death by both of her parents and her dad, Morris Wallace; her husband, George Turner and her two brothers, James Authur Pelfrey and William “Bill” Pelfrey.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, James Whitney and wife Laura Jo of Caddo Mills, Texas, and son, Thomas Tuner Sr., Amanda Kay Green of Fouke, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Robert Whitney, Clayton Whitney, Cole Whitney, Samantha Turner and fiancé Casey Cantu and Thomas Turner Jr.; two great grandchildren, Leland and Landry.

Visitation: Thursday, January 15, 2026, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Texarkana Funeral Home – Texas, 3515 Texas Blvd., Texarkana, TX 75503.
Graveside Service: Friday, January 16, 2026, 12:00 PM at Rondo Memorial Park, with Brother Wallace Edgar officiating.
