Burglary Suspects Also Charged in County Burglary

Three men arrested by Texarkana, Texas Police Department for burglary charges have also been charged with stealing cigarettes and a donation jar from Skaggs Country Store in New Boston, Texas.

According to Bowie County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Jeffrey Neal, “around 3:00 am on December 17, 2014 Bowie County deputies were dispatched to an alarm call at the Skaggs County Store located in the 3000 block of Highway 82 West in New Boston.  When the deputies arrived they found the front door of the business had been forced open.  Deputies checked the building for the suspects, but no one was found inside. The owner of the store checked the business for missing property and found that cigarettes and a donation jar were missing.”

According to Neal while taking a report for this burglary, Deputy Brett Whitlock was notified that the Texarkana Texas Police Department had arrested three individuals for a similar burglary that had just occurred in their jurisdiction.

“The donation jar taken from the Skaggs County Store was located by officers from the Texarkana Texas Police Department in the vehicle they had arrested them from,” said Neal.

The three arrested suspects are John Eugene Willeford 23 years of age of Texarkana, Texas, Kevonte Laquan Smith 17 years of age of Texarkana, Texas and Rodricus Unquain Townsend 17 years of age of Texarkana, Texas.

According to Neal the suspects were  interviewed by SherifInvestigators David Biggar and Robby McCarver. “From these interviews investigators were able to clear two burglaries and two attempted burglaries in Bowie County. Each suspect has been charged with Burglary of a Building and they are waiting to have their bonds set,” said Neal.
