A patient at a local health clinic caused ebola response plans to be implemented by LifeNet, Texarkana, Texas Fire Department and Wadley Hospital this morning.

According to an official who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly, local police departments were contacted this morning about a patient whose travel history and symptoms gave the possibility of ebola.

LifeNet referred any questions to Wadley Hospital where the patient was transported.

According to spokesperson for Wadley, Shelby Brown, “when we got the patient It was determined that he was low to no risk but we implemented our protocol to err on the side of safety, it has been determined that he is not at risk of having it.”

A large section of the front entrance to wadley was cordoned off this morning with police tape. Police emergency operations trailer and fire department special response units were on scene at Wadley Hospital this morning.

According to Brown the determination that it was not ebola was reached in concert with state health department officials based on his travel history.
